Lake Mohawk Pool

The Lake Mohawk Pool is a great place for Members, their families and friends to play, make friends, sunbathe and enjoy summer! Nestled on East Shore Trail in the Byram section of Lake Mohawk, the pool is a great place to swim, exercise, or just enjoy the day! In addition to the Olympic sized pool, the property also includes basketball courts, sports fields, a playground and a gaga bill pit. The Lake Mohawk Pool is open to both Lake Mohawk Country Club Members and members of the community at large. There are a limited number of memberships available each year.

Membership applications for the 2024 season will be available shortly.

Calendar

The Lake Mohawk Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 25 for Memorial Day weekend. The Pool will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-7pm, until Saturday, June 22 when it will be open full time through Monday, September 2.

The pool hosts many exciting events such as Havana Night, Swim Meets, Live Music, Family Fun Day, and more. More details will be posted soon.

History

The pool, located at the south end of Lake Mohawk in Byram, was built and developed by the Arthur D. Crane Company in 1937. At the time, it was New Jersey's largest outdoor private swimming pool. Celebrated swimmers such as Esther Williams and Dorothy Evans competed in the Olympic sized pool.

Members of Lake Mohawk Country Club voted to purchase the pool property again in 2019. The decision was made after much consideration and evaluation. For further information, please click these links: LMCC Pool Properties Due Diligence Report and the Special Meeting Ballot.

With much history, the Pool is now poised to become a wonderful part of Lake Mohawk’s future.

2024 Swim Team

The swim team is open to children ages 5-18. Previous swim team experience is not required, but swimmers should have some basic swimming skills. Registration is limited to the first 150 swimmers. Practices run Monday- Friday from 9 - 10:45am. Six meets are held throughout the season on Wednesday nights, starting July 3rd. The Championship meet is on Saturday, August 10th. The Club is pleased to offer lifeguard courses. Please click the program that best suits your needs. Registration for all programs takes place at the Club on June 14 from 4-6pm and June 15 from 10am-12noon. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Lake Mohawk Pool Members may enjoy lap swimming on the following days:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 6 to 8pm from June 10th until June 23rd
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7 to 8:30pm beginning June 24th until august 2nd
Saturdays from 7:30 – 9:30am from June 10th until August 2nd
